STORY BEHIND THE ART SKETCH

Nicole Mapp drew the art sketch on the home page. It depicts her oldest sister Michele looking out into a bleak future. She drew the picture on the day before her sister’s accident, before it was known that Michele would remain in a coma for three months and face a future with no memories and no voice. When Michele emerged from the coma, and reality of her future became apparent, the drawing became our symbol. It captures the darkness and frustrating future Brain Injury victims, and their families’ face as they look at the mountain that must be scaled in order to reach Recovery!

The sketch is our inspiration and identity. It will be a prominent part of our information services, material, and fundraising.
